Choosing a Holster Course
The Choosing a Holster Course is focused on helping firearm owners confidently select a holster that fits their lifestyle, firearm, and method of carry. Whether you're carrying concealed or transporting occasionally, this course introduces common holster types, materials, and wear styles. Participants will explore comfort, accessibility, and safety considerations through hands-on demonstrations and guided discussions. The course also covers retention levels, body placement, and concealment strategies under Colorado law. By the end of the session, attendees will be better equipped to choose a reliable, safe holster and carry with confidence in both everyday and emergency situations.
Explore the range of holster styles including inside-the-waistband, outside-the-waistband, appendix carry, ankle holsters, and more. Learn the benefits and drawbacks of each, and how to choose what fits your body and firearm best.
We break down how to balance comfort with concealment. From material selection to ride height and cant angle, you'll test setups that maximize usability without compromising on your lifestyle or wardrobe choices.
Retention is critical. You’ll explore active and passive retention systems, evaluate ease-of-access vs. security, and practice holster draw drills to ensure a balance between safety and responsiveness.
Not all holsters fit every firearm—or every user. Learn how to evaluate holster fitment, material choices like Kydex vs. leather, and what makes a secure, practical match for your gun and build.
Learn how your lifestyle affects holster choice—from seated positions and long drives to daily movement and child safety. This tab dives into practical EDC setup considerations for different routines.
Finish the workshop with safe holstering techniques to prevent negligent discharge. Understand best practices for reholstering, especially under stress or when carrying appendix-style. Practice makes safe.
